ASTec Metalworks actively pursues manufacturing challenges including difficult to machine materials, tight tolerances, complex geometry, assembly requirements and tight delivery schedules.
Defense & Aerospace Manufacturing
ASTec Metalworks, operates under AS9100 REV D and ITAR regulations, enabling us to serve worldwide in the aerospace and defense markets.
3, 4, & 5-axis Milling
We currently support 3 axis machining up to 30” wide x 60” in length, 4-axis and horizontal travels of up to 28” x 28”, and 5-axis up to 28” diameter x 18” high. In addition, a new 5-axis machining center with turning option is currently in the planning stages.
Turning
We have lathe and mill-turn capability.
Sheet Metal
Our sheet metal department enables us to support our core complex machining customer base with high quality sheet metal sourcing to simplify purchasing. Sheet metal fabrication often includes welded construction and hardware assembly.
Forming
Our forming department supplies sheet metal at a much higher level of complexity with various shapes, complex geometry, heat treatments, and strict tolerances. The combination of our complex machining and forming services have contributed heavily to the growth of our business.
PROCESS MANAGEMENT
JobBOSS ERP® supports our efforts from quoting to job creation to cost control. Our real time data tracking enables accurate scheduling and supports our AS9100 dashboard needs with regard to vendor, customer, and quality tracking.
Welding
Our welders are Mil-Spec and AWS certified for a variety of grades of aluminum and stainless.
Quality Control
Our Q.C. department utilizes a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), as well as other traditional instruments to ensure the accuracy of our work. NDT inspection is supported by ISO/IEC partners for independent testing results.
